From Prototype to Production: Manufacturing the World's Smallest Digital Door Lock

The Challenge:

The team at Otto designed the smallest smart door lock on the market. The design comprised 265 custom mechanical components that needed to be fabricated and assembled in order to work. I joined the team after it had completed a prototype build and helped ramp up production to ensure that the product could be manufactured at scale.

The Result:

We manufactured the lock at scale and had begun a beta program with rave reviews. Unfortunately the startup ran out funding before we were able to ship to customers.
